Garbage Disposal Repair vs. Replacement
Disposals are inexpensive appliances with a working life of roughly eight to fifteen years. Jams, reset trips, flange leaks and switch problems are worth repairing at any age. A leak from the bottom of the unit, a burnt-out motor or a cracked housing are not, and in those cases we quote a replacement installed and tested on the same visit.
Age of the appliance
An older appliance approaching the end of its typical useful life may not justify an expensive repair.
Repair cost
Compare the expected repair expense with the cost of purchasing and installing a comparable replacement.
Overall condition
An appliance that has otherwise been dependable may be an excellent repair candidate.
Previous repairs
Repeated failures can change the economics of another repair.
Replacement cost
Premium refrigerators, ranges and other high-end appliances can be expensive to replace, making repair particularly worthwhile in some situations.
Garbage Disposal Installation
We install new disposals from InSinkErator, Waste King, Moen, KitchenAid and other brands, including the mounting assembly, the drain and dishwasher connections and the power connection to an existing outlet or switch. If your dishwasher has recently stopped draining after a new disposal was installed, the knockout plug on the dishwasher inlet was probably never removed, which we can fix in minutes.
$75 Diagnostic Service
Our $75 diagnostic fee covers the technician coming out to check the issue, and it is applied toward the repair if you go ahead.
